I've made two beers with Bay Shore, New York's Great South Bay Brewery:

1) Niko Weisse (4.0% ABV)

Release: 2014

Description: Niko Krommydas likes beer and writes about it. Great South Bay Brewery likes beer too, and brews it. Naturally those who have common interests meet and begin a friendship. GSB and Niko have been friends since the inception of the brewery. Niko has documented in either print or picture, all of our brewery’s milestones. We felt that the time was right to take our friendship to the next level & meld our passions into a beer style that is uniquely our own. Brewed with a base recipe of a tart, traditional Berliner Weisse we used the inspiration of Niko’s Greek heritage to add a new component to this beer by adding 100 lbs. of cucumber to the beer to give it a flavor reminiscent of a fresh tzatziki sauce. We really enjoyed this whole process and hope you enjoy this beer as much as we do!

2) Je Peux Voir des Miles (7.0% ABV)

Release: 2016

Description: We dedicate our newest beer to Miles Davis—not the transcendent jazz trumpeter, but the cat of Niko Krommydas, a local beer writer and our good friend. This is a bittersweet collaboration for Niko. Miles recently lost a hard-fought battle with cancer, so what was initially only a sequel to Niko Weisse, a beer we made together in 2014, also became a way for us to honor the memory of a brave soul. Je Peux Voir des Miles, which translates to "I can see for Miles," is a saison brewed with pilsner and wheat malts. Strisselspalt hops from the Alsace region of France lend a slightly floral flavor, while a Belgian yeast strain from a very well-known saison brewer produces a traditional dry finish with notes of black pepper. After brewing, the final step was an aging time of 10 months in Chardonnay barrels with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, a wild yeast that adds a farmhouse aroma and elegantly tart finish. We hope that you enjoy drinking this beer as much as we enjoyed making it with Niko. This brew's for you, Miles! Cheers!

I've also made a beer with Brooklyn, New York's Sixpoint Craft Ales for the brewery's annual charity event, Beer For Beasts.

3) Miles Runs the Voodoo Down (6.0% ABV)

Release: 2016

Description: Named for Niko's resilient cat, Miles Davis, who passed last year. The little dude survived a fire a couple years back by jumping out the window and zipping down the fire escape. This brew aged for 6 months and is insanely complex and delicious.
